Dr. Tisnado grew up in the Richmond and after attending the Collegiate Schools she received her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. She began practicing Veterinary Medicine in the Richmond area in 2000 and became the owner of Gayton Animal Hospital in 2013. Not only does she enjoy the day to day veterinary work she has a special interest in soft tissue surgery as well as internal medicine. Dr. Tisnado is looking forward to this new adventure with Dr. White and Dr. Willis and being able to provide care for more of Richmonds loved pets.
Dr. Tisnado currently lives in Goochland. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and many pets.
Dr. Sara White was born in Colchester, England where she lived for 10 years and became an avid fan of James Herriot. She spent the rest of her childhood in Mclean, Virginia. After completing a bachelor of science degree from James Madison University in 1992 she attended Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1996. She spent the first five years as a veterinarian in a small animal practice in Arlington, Virginia. During this time she volunteered at the D.C. humane society and helped start a mobile spay-neuter service. She moved to Richmond in 2000 and worked at West End Veterinary Hospital. After the birth of her first daughter she decided to become a relief veterinarian and practiced all over the Richmond metropolitan area up until the opening of Winterfield Veterinary Hospital in Midlothian. Dr. White is also the co-owner of Fairfield Veterinary Hospital in the East End along with Dr. Willis. Her interests include internal medicine, pain management and geriatric care.
Dr. White has been married to her husband Gary since 2001. She and Gary reside in the West End with their three daughters, Lily, Sophie, and Addison. Their four legged children include a Labrador, a Newfoundland, and two cats. Her interests include running, skiing, dining out and traveling.
Dr. Willis is a 1994 graduate of the University of Virginia and graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. In veterinary school, Dr. Willis was a member of the student chapter of The Emergency and Critical Care Society and The Honor Society of Phi Zeta and continues to be a member of both as a professional. He is also a member of The Biltmore Who's Who. Dr. Willis began his veterinary career practicing emergency medicine at the Veterinary Emergency Center and has a special interest in internal medicine and surgery. In 2009 Dr. Willis made the move to a full service veterinary practice when he opened Winterfield Veterinary Hospital with his partner Dr. Sara White. In 2013 he and Dr. White purchased Fairfield Veterinary Hospital in the East End. He is excited to be able to once again expand his veterinary reach to the West End and provide care for even more of the Richmond area pets.
In his spare time, Dr. Willis enjoys fly fishing, golf, being outdoors and playing lacrosse. Dr. Willis and his two children, Parker and Anne McKinley, reside in the Near West End. Their four legged children include three Japanese Chins, Jellybean, Dickens, and Dudley.
Dr. Blanchong is a graduate from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has a diverse veterinary experience, which includes small animal medicine and surgery, equine medicine and surgery, emergency medicine and critical care, as well as integrative medicine (combining traditional Western and Chinese medicines), practicing acupuncture and herbal medicine. Dr. Blanchong is available to see patients out our location, however you do need to call her and set something up.

Your pet is your responsibility and we will do what we can to help you through a difficult time, but we cannot be financially responsible for you and your pet.
